IMMACULATE NJERU

Founder & Executive Director

Immaculate is passionate about fostering a sense of hope in other single mums, while creating opportunities for them to economically empower themselves. For 36 years, she worked for the United Nations- a global diplomatic and political organization dedicated to international peace and stability. Throughout her career, she worked in countries that were recovering from political instability and war. Among these were Somalia, Liberia, Sudan and South Sudan. In addition, she worked in Nairobi, which is one of the UN Headquarters. Here, she was responsible for the overall coordination, formulation, allocation, and management of the organizations’ budgets upward of USD$ 750 million. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Sociology from University of Nairobi/Kenya, and an MBA from University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. In addition, she has certificates in Effective Negotiations in Project, Conflict resolution in the workplace, Integrity Awareness, and Leadership.

ANNA KAMAU

Director, Administrator

Anna is an experienced Defined Benefits Senior Pension Analyst with a demonstrated history of working in the pension administration financial & hospitality industries. Skilled in Catering, Microsoft Word, Sales, Cooking, and Food Preparation. She has a Business Administration Degree focused in Hospitality Operations Management from George Brown College, Toronto/Canada Description text goes here

Mary is a Learning Facilitator and Management Professional with experience in Teaching, Administration and Operational leadership in Educational, Agricultural and Humanitarian sectors. She is passionate about interacting and working with teams made up of people from different cultures, social classes and lifestyles. Improving livelihoods and enhancing an individuals capacity so they can meet their basic needs Nurturing social and economic conditions for sustainable development She has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from University of Eldoret/Kenya, A Certificate in Leadership and Strategic Management and A Certificate in Peer Education

SARAH KAMAU

Chair, Board of Directors

Sarah Kamau is a change agent who is passionate about championing the rights of the less privileged through advocacy and community development. While living in Kenya, she has worked in various national and international organizations in refugee camps and in the humanitarian field. Through these experiences, Sarah has witnessed firsthand loss of lives and livelihoods, and forced migration and Its Impact on women and children Currently, Sarah contributes her expertise and passion for community as Director of Community health Care Operations and Administration at Madison Community Services and volunteers time providing information and referrals to newcomers, people with mental health challenges and mobilizing community members in supporting people going through various challenges like physical and mental health by conducting visitations and access to resources Sarah co-founded Africa Climate Action Initiative (ACAI), a CAP Network initiative to coordinate and build the capacity of African communities and partners to adapt to and mitigate on climate change. Sarah has been championing and empowering the capacity of newcomers and Immigrants from Africa In settling and adapting to Canada.
